I need answers fast.

Can i buy this keyboard with its german layout, but somehow pull out the z and y keys and change the layout to something usable? Are the 810 keycaps replecable and interchangeable?

If you can find keycaps for it, yes.

I would just interchange the z and y keys with each other.

Hmm. Honestly, no real way to tell without having the keyboard on hand. Most keycaps can't be swapped like that

Why is that?

It has to do with the way the keycaps connect to the keyboard, there's a specific pattern that is used so keys can't be moved around easily. I've been able to reverse a couple arrow keys on mine, but nothing else

One Romer-G and another are able to be swapped. The only keycaps this won't work on are the F and J keys, because they are usually weirdly designed on the inside.

Keep in mind most keyboard have a staggered layout, which in turn could make it so one keycap is differently angled compared to another.

Note that the QWERTZ layout has more differences from the QWERTY layout than the Y and Z by the way.

These other differences should be minor.

They are not that huge, just thought I would mention them.

It's a shame Romer-G doesn't have a huge aftermarket keycap option, only came across one set on Aliexpress.

Yeah but i wouldnt have money for them anyways. The only big thing i need to do is switch z and y, the other things i can do by memory.

To be completely honest, you don't need to do that if you can find your way around the keyboard.

The only thing you need to do is set the windows or whatever OS you are running to the keyboard layout you use.

The physical and software layout can be different. For instance I used a keyboard with german layout and it had Y and Z swapped around and umlaut keys on ; and ', but because the keyboard was set to QWERTY English US pressing the Z key inputed Y to the computer.

So, if you can live with physical layout not directly corresponding to the one it the software you can have any keyboard layout you want.
