Hi!
I am planning to build a pc that is good for gaming. I've come up with the following build:
de.pcpartpicker.com/list/7p6VtJ
The problem is that it's pretty expensive. It would be really nice if you could help me with my budget of around 1370 euro (1640 dollars) and just some general improvements! Thank You!

Unless you're playing at 1440p/144Hz, you can step the GPU down to a 1070 or 1060 6GB

I recommend against asrock... friends had problems in the past with them... they feel kinda cheaply made.

Asrock boards are plenty good as long as you don't get the bottom of the barrel boards.

Msi has stepped up there game lately, and in my opinion is the best... asus just doesn’t have customer service basically so go msi.

It's funny how everyone has different experiences and different brand loyalty's. I'm by no means trying to be rude here. I've had great experiences with AsRock so far, the UEFI is intuitive and was happy with the board layout and build quality. However, to your point earlier, I don't have one of their lower tier boards. I was happy enough with the one I currently have that I stuck with AsRock for my next build as well.

MSI on the other hand, seems of not so great quality in my opinion. I do not have any experience with their boards, my opinions has mostly been based on reading reviews and what not.

Either way, I suggest OP looks at the boards within their price range from reputable brands such as AsRock, MSI, ASUS, and Gigabyte, read reviews of the ones that has the features he/she is looking for, and then choose from there. Brand loyalty and opinions aside, reading through a long list of customer reviews will give OP a good idea of how the board will perform.

Just my two cents!

EDIT: The AsRock Extreme4 is the same board I chose for my new build, it has awesome reviews, a solid power phase design from what I've read, and looks like a solid choice, but again, I'm bias.

ASRock boards are very high quality. Stop with brand loyalty.

Which msi board have you had issues with? Three of my friends have the x370 gaming pro carbon and I do as well... it’s a great board in my opinion

@dave_k

My micro center store had a sponsored event with them and they had to use them as motherboards and overclock a 1800x. The vrms overheated very easily... and most boards broke and asus hasn’t contacted them back with replacements for an event they sponsored

As I said in my post I haven't actually owned one and based my perception of their boards purely off reading reviews and other things. However, thats why I followed up everything with advising OP to read reviews and look at options from all the reputable brands in his price range: MSI, AsRock, ASUS, and Gigabyte.

Most motherboards on AM4 will bake with 1800X.

These  won't (relatively):

Prime X370 Pro

Strix X370-F

Crosshair 6 Hero, Extreme

Gigabyte Gaming 5 and K7

ASRock Taichi, Pro Gaming

Its not awful but worse than average.

My B350 Carbon (basically the same as X370 Carbon) experience was pretty meh and experience with B350 Tomahawk was outright terrifying.
