Turn on/off sys_fan2 with software

23ek1jelkejd10dsslk14

Hi, I've rather old MOBO Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P (rev.1.0)

I also have one rear 3-pin fan connected to sys_fan2 (3-pin) socket on my motherboard

The fan is super loud and spins at 100% all the time.

I'd like to ask if it's possible to turn fan on and off using some kind of software?

My BIOS do not provide any setting to control sys_fan2 speed, it can only read it's RPM

Have you tried lowering the fan speed through the motherboard settings?

The sys_fan2 header might just be a powered header that reads the rpm for some reason.

If possible, use the sys_fan1 header instead.

You set fan curves to react set temps. 3pin fans have starting speed of 30-40%. Set that at temp point where you want to power up. You can test what is your fans starting point with main screens dials.

Check some guides on how to setup SpeedFan.
