So you just plug the cables in ssd and mobo and psu, but can you just screw it in the case not in a tray but just on the case? I have a coolermaster masterbox lite 5

Yes, pretty much. There is a mount for it here:

In the manual there should be a guide on how to install it, you want to plug this cable from your power supply unit into the SSD to power it, called SATA power. And you also want to connect this cable, that might look something like this, from the motherboard to the SSD: Image result for sata cable

EnergyEclipse, so you dont need a tray or something?

Nope! :D That part which I highlighted is a dedicated mount for SSDs, so you can show off your SSD.

Enjoy building!

or if you have a 3.25 to 2.5 adapter you could use that...

You kind of don't need to do that, as the trays in the bottom of the case have native support for SSDs and HDDs.

Is this the same with a 3.5" hard drive but you need to place it in a tray to put in a bay?

Yes, they can go in the two bays by the power supply unit. Put them in the tray (The manual states how to do this), and then slide them in and plug in all the connectors.

So you need to buy a tray? Or is there already a tray to put the hard drive in?

Lol I think you need to read the manual, the trays are included with the case. They look like this: Image result for masterbox lite 5 trays
