M.2 Help (can't get it to work)

Skybird77

Hello everyone,

thank you in advance for your help. as the title states i'm having some issue with getting my m.2 ssd to work i have a

MoBo: MSI 970A Gaming pro Carbon

and i'm bought a Corsair Force series MP500 (120GB) m.2 NVMe PCIe Gen .3 x 4 SSD. now it shows up on my boot list after hitting up F11 and when i look in Computer Management it shows a PCI Device that is not installed and when i try to update the driver it says unable to install your PCI Device. All i am trying to do is install Windows 7 (64bit) on to it. I hope this is enough info. any help in this matter is appreciated

Download the Corsair SSD toolbox and see if that helps.

Here's a link to it: Corsair SSD Toolbox or here's the Direct link

Does it show up in Disk management?

You might need to format it before you ca use it.

No it dose not. And I've tried only having the m.2 plugged in and updating windows and still nothing. I've read that win 10 could solve my problem but I really don't want to go to win10. Is there are 3rd party program that could fix it

When you open up Disk management can you see a blank disk in there?

Also, have you tried contacting Corsair support yet?

Did you click on the Firmware update button in the Corsair SSD Toolbox?

Also, found this article that could help: Article it is for Windows 10 but, I don't think that really matters.
