Is there any one in here who have had been in my situation could give me a little light?

I have read in another forum but I'd like a second opinion before proceeding with my RMA, I have just now received their email with the valid for 30 days number, I will ship it tomorrow already however I am in doubt, in my 2x8gb kit only 1 stick is defective the other one works fine.

I wrote on the RMA request that was approved:

Description of Problem: Dead stick of memory (non-functioning)

Just that... I have read that people rma only the faulty one and they send back just it, i do believe there's a chance if I sent the one that's good they'll just return me it either ways too rather than give me a whole new kit.

So can I just send the bad one so I at least have 8gb in my system until it returns to opposed to 0gb and only laptop because ram prices right now are insane xD

as far as i know a memory kit is called kit for a reason, it ensures that both sticks work perfectly fine together at rated speeds, while mixing up ram from different kits you may encounter problems and therefore its the "unofficial" right way to RMA your RAM as a KIT so you'll receive another fine tuned KIT in exchange even if only one stick is defective.

Oh please my brother has shown me overclocking even 2400mhz rated kits to 2933mhz on spotless timings, on ryzen with has far worse IMC, I want to know if I can just send one not a lesson please [:

even if its not about speed, you can encounter stability issues mixing up ram from different kits aswell at any speed, also i think it counts as one product, feel free to ask G.Skill themselves :P

I did :/

But you know how waiting these answers go besides 30 days is quite tight with our shitty mailing service here in Brazil, on good weather we're talking 13~15 days that it takes, so can't afford losing much time waiting makes me uncomfortable.
