Hi guys, there wasn't really a section for smartwatches that I saw, so this is going in general. I am looking for a android wear watch to use for my Nexus 6P. Preferably $250 or less but I can work around that price point. I don't really care if it is square or round. Would an LTE one be better to save battery from my phone? In theory it seems better for battery, but I don't know how I feel having the LTE signal on my skin, although that could just be me being paranoid. Would a bluetooth device drain a lot of battery from my 6P? I was looking at the Zenwatch 3, but what I want from the watch is to read emails, get facebook notifications, texts, other notifications, and calling. I didn't see if the Zenwatch supported calling. If you guys could help me or suggest other watches go ahead.

No offense, but personally, I think smartwatches are still in its early stages. A smartwatch has no special features that your phone usually can't do. Personally, the only reason I'd get a smartwatch is for fitness or for an heart rate sensor if your phone doesn't have one.

LTE will significantly drain more battery than ones without LTE. If your bluetooth is always on, it will drain battery, and most likely more if you use multiple bluetooth devices simultaneously.

So, basically, wait until smartwatches have matured more, much more than they are now. Save your money.

While it does not have more feature than a phone, the point is convenience. Instead of pulling it out of my pocket and unlocking it I can just look at my wrist instantly. Not a huge deal, but helps a little bit. Also, I get what you are saying, but the watches don't replace the phone. That is kind of like saying why use a phone when a pc can do more, just convenience. And if I only want it primarily for notification, I don't think that would be too early in development, but Andriod does update their notification system occasionally so idk.
