NH-D14 or H100i for 4770 non-overclocked

Haswell

Looking to get a 4770 CPU (which I will not be overclocking) and I am stuck on what CPU cooler to get.  It's either going to be the NH-D14 or the H100i.  Will I see better performance with the H100i given the fact that I am not going to be overclocking?

Why do you feel the need to get those? You won't need either one. You can get the Hyper 212 EVO.

You will see far better performance with the H100i, but it's also going to be a lot more expensive...

This is actually the better option...

Run stock or a 212 EVO. The stock is designed to cool your processor at stock speeds so anything more is pretty much excess.

Maybe A Noctua U14S. Something smaller from noctua, if you like noctua. if it's not dependend from the manufacturer, the bequiet dark rock 2 is a nice alternative.

who cares...

if you arent going to overclock you can save half the money and get something cheaper. just get a cheaper noctua and call it a day. If you find them ugly as a lot of ppl do you can find plenty of well performing budget coolers no problem.

If your not going to overt clock I don't see much of a reason to buy a $100 cooler.

A good cooler will extend life expectancy. An AIO should result not only in better cpu cooling but also better gpu temps because of lower case ambient temp, at the cost of a louder system. H80i, H100i both good units and will do the job quite well. Noctua NH-D14 is also good and will do a quieter job. From a looks perspective the equally good Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 2 might be preferable to the Noctua.

All that is really needed is something like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

CM hyper 212 EVO. Or stay with stock if you're not gonna overclock!
