Overheating Issues, At Wits End

i use fan control (its an app) and manually control my fans for my aircooler. I generally keep it at 50% at idle, then 75-100% during workloads depending on if its gaming or a video render. Id recommend that route and see if you can get the result you want.

You may have to also undervolt and really go over the bios to make sure its just not pumping too much voltage.

Turns out the issue was indeed just the cooler. I know this is really late as a reply but I spent the last few days ordering an NH-D15 and installing it. Running stress test now and "Doo doo head" went from the 91Watts draw at 100C at 4.1mhz to 180-190watts at 70C at 5.5mhz. I had no idea a cooler could make such a big difference especially since they are right around in the same ballpark in terms of size and even more so that the dark rock has an additional fan, I would have thought for sure it was in the favor of the dark rock.
Thanks again for your help though, much appreciated!

I have no idea if its something I'm doing wrong or if its something with the pc. Pre re-paste the machine would idle at around 60-80C and while I don't have any SS's of the OCCT test from the pre-paste the machine would hit 100C instantly and not draw more than 40watts of power while under load.

I repasted today, fresh paste, cleaned the dust off a dust-less cooler because the machine is less than a month old, and now the machine will idle at around 40-60C which is definitely an improvement but I'm not sure if this is where it should be? It's not my first time building a PC, its my second, but my first PC i have had no issues with the temps and I have had zero issues in the two years of owning it. No crashing, no BSODs, no random freezups, hell even windows hasn't caused me any issues (knocking on wood profusely currently).

While the temps have certainly improved since the repaste (it seems to match my other air cooled machine while idle), I can't help but feel like something is going wrong when it comes to under load still. The power draw has improved, going from drawing 40watts to 80-90watts, but my machine running a CPU from January of 2022 still seems to perform significantly better underload. Additionally, the new machine will hit 100c in the OCCT stress test instantly where as Ol' Reliable will sit in the 60-80c range under heavy load, be it at around 100-120 watts as well but that's due to me limiting it to that. Ol' Reliable has a 12700k, whereas this stupid doo doo head has a 14700kf and seems to hate my guts.

I will say they are running different CPU coolers. Ol' Reliable is running a Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black where as doo doo head is running a Dark Rock Pro 5, are these coolers that different or does my issue lie elsewhere? Any insight here would be much appreciated.

Editing real quick to also mention that Ol' Reliable is also managing better and more stable temps with just ONE fan on the cooler, Doo Doo Head over here has both the fans on the cooler and your typical single rear exhaust fan right next to the Dark Rock Pro 5 and yet nothing I do seems to satisfy it. Is it the CPU? Is that where everything is going wrong?

Attached are pictures of the OCCT test with HWINFO next to it.

All I can say is that system32 didn't seem that important at first alright?

whats the ambient room temp? 14700k is still quite a power hungry CPU, thus generating a ton of heat. The Dark rock pro5 is pretty much at its limits with that type of cpu, but at idle it should still be around 35-55c (depending on what  you having running at idle and your room temps) Most cpus now run at around 40-55c at idle with an air cooler.

Also are you running at 100% fan speed?

Ambient room temp is around 70-72F which is around 21-22C. Idle as of the repaste I did around 1-2 hours ago seems to have been resolved, my main issue now is with under load. Do you think it would be a good idea for me to swap my Dark Rock Pro 5 with the Noctua NH-D15 that I have in Ol'Reliable? The coolers have very similar builds so I assumed that the performance would be around the same?

Also forgot to mention, fan speed is left on automatic but set to the Dark Rock's "performance" setting instead of the "quiet" setting.
I'm starting to think that at this point I should swap the 14700kf with a 12700k and see where that lands me lol.
