Can anyone recommend me some mining components for the UK please

As title, would prefer UK, but if the shipping isn't too bad, would consider other sources.

Mostly looking for recommendations for stuff like:-

  • pci risers - singly or in batches is good.
  • SATA/molex to 6/8 pin GPU power adaptors if they are safe to use?
  • 6/8 pin gpu to 2x 6/8 pin adaptors if they are safe to use?

I am not overly familiar with the workings of a PSU, so not sure if it's a good idea to use a lot of molex/sata to pci-e adaptors, as I know there are some dodgy adaptors out there, but also whether decent PSUs such as my favourite EVGA supernova Platinum 850W would provide enough power through those connections?, the good news though Is that most of my PSUs are in fact G2/P2 and plan to get more of the same if/when needed so that spare cabling left over can be used on the others.

I am going to be using a z97 gaming 5 from MSI and a 4670K, and undervolt/clock it to save some juice, I have 7 pci slots to use with risers... and I will be using 4x Zotac GTX 1060 6GB Amp! edition GPUs, and try to get the memory clock higher, and the power limit lower also... I am hoping for a power usage around 75-100W per card.

I am thinking that as I will obviously be using a 6 pin pci-e, that I may get away with using a 2x sata to 6/8 pin adaptor when I run out of native cables, does that sound good? Also as I will be using those, the pci riser cards should be sufficient with either sata/molex connections right? No dangers of melting the adpators as the power draw isn't going to be high anyway - or am I thinking wrongly here?

Anyone got an idea of the peripheral cables max wattage on these PSUs please? amount per connection/total for cable would be great. I think for the riser power I could use one complete cable for the 4 cards no problem, I'm more concerned with any sata/molex to 6/8 pin adaptors, or would I be better off looking at 8 pin to 2x 6 pin to power 2 cards?

Anything else you can think of that I may not have thought of? I like to thnk that I am an organized kind of guy, but nobody is perfect, so would welcome any additional advice pertaining to a mining rig.

Appreciate any help here, I have looked around, but there is sooo much info out there it's hard separating the good from the bad, and the outdated info... thanks guys :)

To be honest, mining with graphics cards is not profitable. It takes months to regain your investment...if the value of the crypto currency does not drop. I'd rather daytrade if you want to make money or buy some asics miner from bitmain.

edit: What's your kWh price?

Around 12p per min all-in. I have done my figures, plus I already have everything I need to do it except a few GPUs. It's still profitable according to https://99bitcoins.com/advanced-ethereum-mining-calculator/

Appreciate the input though. I do have backup plans to either mine a different currency or use the GPUs for something else.

Well, in my opinion it is not worth the investment. I'd rather buy a asic miner as said before. You would get more revenue from it even though it's also expensive but I think it's less risky.

Wish you good luck with that ;-)
