Posted December 23, 2017 Hey, I just wanted some opinions some parts I am going to be using for my new build. I originally had a system with an i7-7700, but wanted to do an entire rebuild because it was a disaster(tons of things came DOA and my NZXT AIO leaked). I am deciding on a rebuild with most of the emphasis on aesthetics w/ the 8700k. I saved up enough money since I started my first job (I'm 16). Most of the parts are already purchased. Here's the PCPartPicker list - PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor ($399.00 @ B&H) CPU Cooler: Deepcool - CAPTAIN 240EX WHITE 153.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (Purchased For $99.99) Thermal Compound: Cooler Master - MasterGel Maker 4g Thermal Paste (Purchased For $9.00) Motherboard: ASRock - Z370 Extreme4 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (Purchased For $148.98) Memory: Team - Dark Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (Purchased For $199.99) Storage: Samsung - 960 EVO 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (Purchased For $240.00) Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Purchased For $66.00) Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG STRIX Video Card (Purchased For $590.00) Case: Phanteks - ECLIPSE P400 TEMPERED GLASS ATX Mid Tower Case (Purchased For $69.99) Power Supply: EVGA - B3 650W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (Purchased For $73.00) Case Fan: be quiet! - SilentWings 3 PWM High-Speed 77.6 CFM 140mm Fan (Purchased For $20.90) Case Fan: be quiet! - SilentWings 3 PWM High-Speed 77.6 CFM 140mm Fan (Purchased For $20.90) Case Fan: be quiet! - SilentWings 3 PWM High-Speed 73.3 CFM 120mm Fan (Purchased For $19.90) Monitor: ViewSonic - VX2778-smhd 27.0" 2560x1440 60Hz Monitor (Purchased For $329.99) Keyboard: Cougar - AttackX3-4IS (MX Brown) Wired Gaming Keyboard (Purchased For $74.00) Mouse: Logitech - G203 Prodigy Wired Optical Mouse (Purchased For $39.99) Other: CableMod ModFlex™ Basic Cable Comb Kit – Transparent (x1) & CableMod White Cables (Purchased For $95.40)Other: Phanteks PH-FF120RGBP Halos RGB Fan Frame – High density LEDs, RGB, 120mm fan mounting (Purchased For $9.99)Other: Phanteks PH-FF140RGBP Halos RGB Fan Frame – High density LEDs, RGB, 140mm fan mounting (Purchased For $9.99)Other: Phanteks PH-FF140RGBP Halos RGB Fan Frame – High density LEDs, RGB, 140mm fan mounting (Purchased For $9.99)Total: $2527.00Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when availableGenerated by PCPartPicker 2017-12-23 16:03 EST-0500 How much of an improvement should I expect with the 8700k? All of the parts are different from my last build, except the GPU, storage, and the peripherals. I am also a bit confused on the AIO, mainly how the fan configurations work. For example, the Phanteks P400 only supports a front radiator and the other fans I am adding for the case are all exhaust. So, if I do a pull configuration will that mean that the radiator fans become intakes for the whole case as well? Also, will it be worth it to buy EK Vardar fans for the radiator, or no? I am also thinking of buying a delidded 8700k at https://siliconlottery.com, should I bother? Overall, what do you guys think about my selection and do you guys have any other tips? Thanks! Posted December 23, 2017 1. Get a 144hz monitor 2. For the fans, put your radiator as exhaust in the front 3. The 2 included fans in the case, put those on the top as intake 4. Buy a rear 120mm fan also as intake Quote "(1) High Frame Rates (2) Ultra Graphics Settings (3) Cheap>>>>Choose only two" Chevaishr https://myanimelist.net/profile/AnalCavity PCPartPicker URL https://pcpartpicker.com/b/bsJ8TW
 Posted December 23, 2017 Author Ok, thanks. I'll make sure I do that, but what about the fans that I bought, should I use those as radiator fans?
