Bad GPU Performance after BIOS update gtx 1080

Hi guys,

I have a GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming 8GB and I just updated it BIOS.

But now I have really poor performance after the update. In GTA V I have around 25 fps on very high settings (before the update: around 125), F1 2017 now 27 fps (before: 135 fps)

I downgraded the BIOS with nvflash64 to an older version but the performance haven't improved after that.

I already reinstalled windows to eliminate a drivers problem.

What can I do?

Some specs:

i7 8700k, Gigabyte Aorus 5 Z370, 16 GB ram, 250 gb SSD, Corsair 750 W

So you before you flashed it, you pulled the stock bios off the card right? And that's the one you went back to?

SO the memory isn't clocking correctly, I assume. I don't use furmark so I don't recall. Already did a fresh install of drivers?

Yes I did. I already reinstalled Windows 10 and tried an older vision of the Nvidia driver.

On Heaven Benchmark I only got around 15 fps.

Ok, so what program are you using for the gpu? Need actual stats. From that program or gpuz

Something like this.

You sure you flashed the correct bios back and it actually changed?

Where did you get the other bios?

Memory clock isn't changing and the bandwidth seems to be cut in half.

Have you tried reseating the card or swapping pci slots?

Did you use DDU when reinstalling drivers?

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

i had the same issue, actually reinstall the latest driver, if that dont work, take it as a lesson not to mess with graphics card bios's unless it has dual bios

Flashed all 5 of my $1000 gpu's. Never had a problem and don't plan on it.

In most cases its pointless to update the bios if it isn't modded.

Which would be your next step as you need a control at this point as it cant get much worse.

Got a link to the updated bios that was for your card?

If the BIOS isn't off Gigabyte's website-that might be what's causing the issue (I've updated the BIOS on my GTX 970 G1 Gaming through the OC Guru+Aorus utilities without any problems).
@VNNoob

You could always re-download the latest BIOS from Gigabyte's website and manually adjust the memory clock speed.

Have you flash with the current official Gigabyte version on the product page?

http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/BIOS/vga_bios_n1080g1_gaming-8gd_f2.zip

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

I tried to overclock but it seems to stay on one the same memory clock at 405 MHz

Are you sure the bios actually flashed? Got a bios modding program to open the stock one so we can compare to what's flashed now?

Well his GPU-Z shot does show 86.04.17.40.38 which is the current version.
