Ryzen ? build

Go to solution Solved by Princess Luna,

Is it just for gaming? because if so the Ryzen 5 1600 + 1070 Ti is the best combo.

I'd like to buy a new system in new year. Can you check out this build:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QFdZgL

1070ti will be the Founders Edition due to lower price (200$ lower that the ASUS custom one; I live in Russia)

I'm thinking about:

1. taking a ryzen 7 1700 instead of ryzen 5 1600

2. or just downgrade to gtx 1060 6gb cause I have 75Hz max monitor (LG Gaming) (but there's a chance of buying a 144Hz one in future)

Will the ryzen 5 1600 (3.8GHz or up to 4GHz) be good at streaming and there's no real need to choose a ryzen 7 1700 instead of?

P.S. I know that ryzen 5 1600 isn't a bottleneck to GTX-1070TI

All comments will be appreciated!)

Yes, it is for games mostly! But I wanna try to stream a bit. So will the ryzen 5 1600 be good for it?

Agreed, r5 1600 + gtx 1070ti is a very good combo.

Is the i5 8400 really out of the question? cheapest z370 motherboard and stock cooler to cheap things up, it would over all outperform the ryzen 5 1600 both at gaming and streaming (you'll need quick sync to use its iGPU on streaming).

But the Ryzen 5 will be over all enough for casual streaming and any gaming specially with a 75hz display.

Ryzen 7 1700 just for higher stream quality isn't justified unless you like make a buck out of streaming or something and needs that extra quality.

But ryzen has hyperthreading, isn’t it help for multitasking a.k.a. streaming in this situation?

Ive took a look at 8400, I’ll take it if in 2018 will be non overclockable cheaper b-series mobos.
