Which CPU is compatible with the Dell precision t5400 for gaming

The best price/performance CPUs you can buy for that machine are the Intel Xeon e5450s. You won't be able to OC them though because this is a server, but that's what you have.

You could use that too, but they consume a lot more power for not much more clockspeed and they aren't compatible with every single workstation out there due to their higher TDP. If you find a good deal on them go for it. But people that are trying to get more life out of an old LGA 771/775 system I generally tell them to get the xeon e54xx series because they work in more systems.

Will the e5450 work in the precision 390
