1060 3gb vs 1050 ti

ok soo I'm going 2 build a computer  my gpu budget is 230 us $ I was looking at gpu and the most comman ise are 1050ti and 1060 3gb so what I whant to know is wich is better

1060 is the better card.

Try to get a lower end 1060 6g, maybe like b-stock or open box or something.

1060 3GB is better card. However, keep in mind if you do go for a 1060, you will have to get a PSU with either a 6 pin and 8 pin PCI power, or both 6 or both 8. Depends on which 1060 you go for.

People are too harsh on the 1060 3GB. Sure it is not quite as powerful as the 6GB version. When gaming I almost never max out my 3GB of vram and am still able to max basically everything at 2560x1080 50-60FPS.

Which 1060 do you have? My Gigabyte card needs a single 6-pin, and I believe that's what the FE requires as well.

The 3GB 1060 is a lie. It's a cut-down GPU, not just less RAM. That's why so many of us are triggered by it.

For a bit more, maybe get a 980ti? That'll crush everything, even a 1070 (I believe)

I agree with what you are saying. My only point is that the 1060 3GB is still a great card.

Realistic speaking the few less cuda cores hardly makes a difference, if you are stuck between a 1050 ti and a 1060 3gb the obvious pick is the 1060

Prices on it are to a point where, combined with the high price of everything above, it actually makes a lot of sense in a midrange build. 

 

But I still hate it and will probably eat its children.

What is it about the 3GB that makes it any harder to use? Sure, its slower, but I don't see how that makes it harder to use.
