S8,Mate 10 or something else ?

alright,so my plan was to buy a mate 9,i saved up for it.but before buying my dad surprised me with a bit more money,which improvised my budget a little bit,so now im changing my entire plan.

my dad intitally gave me 2 suggestions either the:

-Samsung galaxy S8

-Huawei Mate 10

 

 

what i want is a beefy phone to handle some "gaming",a good camera and water resistance.

im really torn by these 2 because Mate has more battery,probably a better camera,but S8 just in general looks gorgeous,has water resistance with not that big of a difference except the battery(dont really care that much about the camera)

so,help ?

nope,thats why im buying more "mainstream" phones,if i had more options id definitly go with the oneplus.

Galaxy S8 has the advantage on battery side, because it has exceptional longevity. After 2 years of use, it'll still preserve 95% of its original capacity.

A bit out of the box but what about a budget friendly phone like a Moto phone and a nintendo switch on top? you'll get the exact same "phone features" like calling, messaging and facebook stuff AND you wil get a dedicated but portable gaming console that wil outperform any flagship phone for years to come. 

 

Out of the two you listed: I'd go for the S8. At this pricepoint looks are a big deal. You are not looking for the best bang for your buck when shopping in the high end. Samsung gets this.

Depends if you root your phone or not. The Mate 10 when not overclocked will have slightly better performance over both exynos and snapdragon S8s. But a rooted Exynos S8 can have significantly better battery vs performance if you clock the kernel correctly. 

In short, if you plan on modding your phone with a custom kernel/rom, go with the S8 exynos. Else, go with the Mate 10

the 3k mAh battery REALLY worries me for some reason,i dont even know why,I have an s3 2100 mah battery so it should still be a big improvement,but  the 4k mah battery on the mate 10 really attracts me.

why not opt to go for the Mate 10 Pro? out of budget range?
IP67 and an AMOLED screen only big differences between the Pro and non pro version besides that the Pro version has a 6GB RAM 128GB storage model as well 

and the Pro apparently has a 1080p display compared to the non Pros 1440p

I don't really see the benefit of 1440p on such small devices myself so I'd go with the Pro if I were you (if it was out of those two phones only you were choosing)

I personally would pick BB KeyONE or Nokia 8 but if you want THE BEST, then the Mate 10!

Edit: S8 cost over 400$ to fix if you break the LCD...

blackberry nd nokia ? didnt these brands die off like,10 years ago ?

ofcourse im not saying that its bad or anything,i mean thats how huawei came to light,but its a little late to get a nokia or a bb.just my opinion

Both are back with Android phones tough both have lost the original factories, how ever most of their phones are solid look up jerryrigeverythings channel on youtube! The only phone that failed was key1 but its later units are suppose to have the issue about screen popping off fixed! :3 "quote: Nokia definitely are a contender for most solid phones of 2017"

Then I'd recommend just saving most of the money and buying something like the Xiaomi A1 or Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X
