Hi !

So i wanted to overclock my CPU to 4.4ghz, however when i go into BIOS, it doesn't save the settings. Even loading the optimised settings that Asrock provides, nothing changes. My CPU is stuck at 3.8Ghz , please help.

Also, in my boot priority, only my HDD is visible and SSD isn't.

Specs:

CPU: I5 7600K

MOBO: ASrock fatality z270 gaming k4

Make sure turbo boost, c states, speedstep, virtualization technology (unless you use it) are disabled.

Make sure voltage is set to manual mode and at 1.28v.

Make sure all core ratio is set to 44.

Go to the last tab in the bios (advanced mode) and save and exit.

That should increase stability.

To update bios:

Make sure legacy usb support is enabled.

On a fat32 formatted usb make sure the FILE INSIDE THE ZIP is placed in the root of the USB drive.

http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/BIOS/1151/Z270 Gaming K4(2.10)ROM.zip

Go into the bios and select instant flash, follow the prompts.

So i extracted files from a ZIP folder that i downloaded from https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming K4/index.asp#BIOS , the 2.10 version and formatted it before i actually extracted any files as shown in a video. There is only 1 file though ? is that normal?

make sure you got the instant flash one, and yes its only a single file in the zip.
