i5-7600K bottleneck a 1070Ti?

sdrozza

I am planning a build at the moment, but the i7 would most likely push me over my budget. Would an i5 act as a bottleneck to a 1070Ti? I would not need the i7 for any other tasks like video editing - I just plan on school work and gaming at 1440p.

Wait do you already own a z170 or z270 board? if you don't and is buying all new you should go with an i5 8400 instead on z370 because that's as good as the i7 7700k but for cheaper and then you can pair the 1070 Ti all day long.

It shouldnt limit you for 60 hz gaming, If you are aiming for 120 or 144 hz youll lose some fps in some games.

If you are buying new stuff, dont go with a 7600k though lol. Even an i3 8350k would be better as youd have an upgrade path.
