Will GTX1080 runs on i5-6600k CPU?

I am planning to upgrade my old graphics card to GTX1080, but I am afraid that it will bottleneck my i5-6600k CPU. Is the CPU powerful enough, or should I upgrade my CPU to the latest version?

Thank you very much sir for your help. I'm so relieved. I was able to find a good deal for the gtx1080, and I'm planning to buy it for Christmas.

there will be bottlenecking in higher refresh rates, won't be unplayable but you'll see fps drops and stuttering. you can overclock it to help with fps but the stuttering will still be there.

High refresh rates like 144Hz, sometimes in some games. I wouldnt get a 1070 just because of that though

 

Otherwise, no. So feel free to use a high-resolution monitor.

Only on bad maps in bf1 or on games that destroy vram like Black ops 3.
