Two Graphics card on a Mining Rig

Small question for a mining noob.

I just finished my mining rig, but since my parents are also going to be using it, i thought putting a 6450 just to keep the machine running smoothly.

However if i have that card and the 7950, cgminer crashes, obviously when i remove the 6450, cg miner obviously works and mining happily.

Also i want the 6450 to drive the display, to keep the other card running do i need to make the little display dummy adapters?

yes, mining for the pool : wemineltc, were you can just run a batch file, with all the settings premade

Alright go to the batch file and right click, select edit to open it with notepad.

 

It will look something like this

 

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o netcodepool.org:3333 -u AK0490.1 -p x -d 0 --thread-concurrency 8192 --no-submit-stale --intensity 13 --worksize 256 -g 2 --gpu-engine 1046 --gpu-memclock 1500

 

 

Just add the  -d 0, if it tries to use only the 6450 change it to -d 1.

It will look something like this

 

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o netcodepool.org:3333 -u AK0490.1 -p x -d 0 --thread-concurrency 8192 --no-submit-stale --intensity 13 --worksize 256 -g 2 --gpu-engine 1046 --gpu-memclock 1500

Thats the same way i can add custom things to maybe try and optimize it? I wouldnt mind squeezing a few more Kh/s ( though not complaining with 598kh/s on the 7950)

Yes, this is how you optimize it.  Paste your .bat here and I will try to recommend some changes to squeeze out more KH/s.

 

Edit: Actually at 600Kh/s any improvement are most likely to come from changes in clock speeds, what is the card running at?

Card is running at 1050MHz core and 1400Mhz on memory

You can open it while it's running if that's what you mean.

 

Try bumping your memory up to 1500 and try the core at 1046 and 1080 and see if you get better results.

There are a lot of other things that you can set manually as well. Here is what I use on my 7950 --thread-concurrency 24768  --intensity 18 --worksize 256  --gpu-engine 1046 --gpu-memclock 1500

 

Any of these things can just be added to the file with a space between each setting. As you can see in my example this would set the clock speeds for you.

 

If you are already running at 600KH/s don't expect to much more though, most cards top out at 630-660.

Okay so that sort of works i think, the 7950 is mining but the cgminer cmd window is just black, with the little _ flickering, any ideas?
