For my first PC build,i plan on gaming and doing some streaming. I was looking at the Ryzen 5 1500x vs the Ryzen 5 1400. I want to know if extra threads make a noticeable difference when streaming, or if a simple overclock could clear that up.

I also want to know if they have the same number of cores and threads. I've been doing some research and difference places have different numbers for some reason.

Its a $20 difference between a 1500x and a 1600, you can fit it into the budget i'm sure. You also get a stronger CPU cooler.

Even at that price the 1600 is worth every single cent. The quad core ryzen CPUs are not fast enough, its like buying a 4th gen i7 brand new.

If you had roughly a $900 budget, and you wanted it to look somewhat good and could game (well) and stream (decently) how would you do it? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XFHGsJ

This is what I'm at right now

I'm trying to have a total setup cost of about $1,100. So far my PC list is about 900 then my moniter, mouse, keyboard, headset and whatever else are gonna have to fit in that $200 bit

I mean, you easily still could.  You don't need super fancy stuff.  Sure, it's nicer, but it can be done.

Ryzen 5 1500x is a waste of money since it only takes 1 minute to overclock the  ryzen 5 1400 to match it for free on any b350 board using stock cooler, both are 4c/8t.

Ryzen 5 1600 on the other hand is a 6c/12t so there actually is performance gain here.

Even with a 1070, his streaming performance will tank without an SSD or atleast another HDD.

Thank you to the both of you,now i really feel stupid lol. I liked the small footstep of a mini-itx and wanted to go down that route. I know the manta was a bit big for a mini itx, thats why i was also looking at the Shift and Silverstone RVZ03, but you might be right. Maybe i should go micro or regular ATX instead.
