I have some apple earbuds that I've had for a month or two now. Ever since I've been using my new laptop my earbuds will actually shock the inside of my ears when I am lying on the floor. Could this be caused by static electricity? It is really annoying and it only really happens with this laptop. Even if I put my finger on the side of the laptop sometimes I get a nasty shock too. Anyone know how to fix this or the reason for it?

The only reason I'm here is that I have homework that I don't want to do

PC  Specs   CPU: Intel Celeron N3060 |GPU: Intel HD graphics 400 |RAM2 gigs  |STORAGE16 gigs

It took me half an hour to find where to change my signature :(

Not sure why just that laptop is doing that, but I have had the same thing happen to me using my ipHone and a pair of running shorts that move around a good deal. It hurt like hell too, but then I just got over it.

This is just really annoying because its everytime that I use my laptop and it hurts like hell. I think it has caused my ears to ring a lot more.

Yeah it's static. I bet it wont happen if you have your laptop plugged into a wall outlet.

It is constantly plugged in even with a ground

Does it do it if the laptop is not plugged in?

It does if I am on the floor or sitting on some sort of cloth material. It definitely sounds like static is the problem, I just don't know what to do about it.
