Overclocking Failed

Z-Gaming

Hello LTT Community,

in the past month i've been getting a lot of freezes (no BSOD) and I turn my pc off from the MOBO power button (my case came with a broken power button and I can't wait 2-3 weeks to RMA it since I use my PC daily) and when I turn it back on it says that OC has failed and I have to go into BIOS in order for my PC to start. I have no idea why this happens now... I've had my CPU for over a year now (6700K @4.7 now at 4.0) and I do not believe this should be happening. I have the H100i v.2 so temperatures are usually at 30oC since I live in Germany where it's cold pretty much 10/12 months in the year. Any recommendations on what i should do? RMA both CPU and case since I will go on vacation for X-Mas for 2 weeks?

Thanks a lot!

Reset the bios and clear the cmos (I hope you know how if not look it up) and that should fix that problem, but you will probably need to lower the overclock.

Try using the PSU Tier List!

How to reset the bios/clear the cmos
