Hello!

I built my own computer but that said i am no pro :-)

I was hoping someone in here would help me, giving their opinion of what part of my rig i would benefit most from upgrading.

My build as it is now:

CPU

Intel 3930k

MB

Asus Rampage Formula IV

Cooler

Corsair H100i

GPU

XFX Radeon 7970 Black Edition

RAM

16GB Kingston Hyperx Blu

HDD

Corsair 120GBr OS

Corsair 120GB for Games

WD Green 2TB for random stuff

As i said i am no pro, ive been running with a mild overclock, but i still want a little more power. I use the rig mostly for gaming,  but also rendering 3d graphics and some photoshop. It has "no problem" running all games at high/ultra, but for a more responsive experience i often set it to medium. Can this be avoided?

Should i get another GPU? Replace it for Nvidia?

RAM, mobo + processor or maybe try something raid with the disks?

Im open to all suggestions!

At this moment in time, I see no reason at all to upgrade. You have got an amazing system going on here and it will be for quite some time in the future.

If you really want more graphical performance, you could consider crossfire 7970 or getting a 290(x)/780(ti).

New to Star Citizen? Look no further!

Really solid system, like Wauthar said. The only thing that might hold you back a bit is the GPU setup, so you can either upgrade to a top end single card or buy another 7970 and put it into crossfire. The 780ti, if that's in your budget (remember you could sell the 7970, they still fetch a decent price) is the best single card out there right now and will provide you with a noticeable boost in performance. Crossfire will as well, but dual GPU setups CAN have problems and are not as efficient.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

Thanks for all your replies! I was suspecting the GPU for being the part that could be upgraded!

I was to purchase a 780ti, do you guys have any recommendations as to which brand to choose from?

Get a Second 7970 Its cheaper and will perform better.
