Something Wrong with My Midi R1?

Hey guys.

So I'm finally getting a discrete GPU after running Intel HD for over a year, but when I tried to put the card in, I noticed it didn't fully fit in the PCIe slot. The gap is kind of big. I have tried moving the motherboard back and forward, but still it can't sit down fully. It is still making connection, but barely. I'm afraid when I get a 780 it'll hurt it over time. My question is do you think it's my case? I've taken the motherboard out and put it on it's box, then put the GPU in, and it fit perfectly in, so I'm assuming it has to be the case, right? I also tried my friend's GPU and did the same thing. What's weird is the case's PCIe brackets don't look crooked or unusual, that's why I never really even looked. Should I maybe try bending the brackets back a little to see if it'll fix it? Or just get a new case as my warranty is expired?

Thanks.

Get a new case.

Or you can try moding it to fit.

contact fractal design support on the question of correct motherboard stand offs.

from your description, they sound like they are too short having the GPU angle

up to the I/O. don't go cutting anything, if it isn't right, get it fixed.

Sweet, thanks. I'll definitely ask them that. It just seemed odd how nothing look bad with the slots. I also do remember having to use standoffs from a different case, maybe that has something to do with it. I'll post some pics today just so you get a better picture.
