Car Subwoofer

30op

Heya,

I'm looking at putting a sub into my car, I already have a head unit so don't need any adaptors.

I'd like to know a bit about RMS and what amps should match with the best subs. I'd like to spend as little as possible.

These are the combo I've been looking at would they work? and what does it mean by 2x75w (this is the amp) does that mean I cant connect a single 150w sub.

If not can someone post a good combo. The most i'm willing to spend is £250, I will go over a bit if its worth it!!

One thing I do know is the sub won't do 1300W RMS

The sub ain't 1300w RMS, that is peak, RMS is probably half the peak or less

RMS is ~70.7% of peak. So 920w about.

Alright, all car stereo speakers that I've looked at was specified with half the RMS as half the peak , that's what I was basing my comment on.

Ya know, I might have actually been wrong when I corrected you. RMS for voltage is 70.7% the peak voltage, just realized it might not be the same for wattage. I apologize for correcting you.

First time I have actually seen a discussion ending with agreeing to each other on the interwebs
