Is my 780... dead?

Hello LTT.

So, I was playing Tibia about 4 hours ago and a bad thing happened. I was just running around and all of a sudden some random pixels went wrong (pic below), it froze and I had to reboot my PC. When rebooting, it showed me the ASUS logo (BIOS/UEFI/whatever) and then my monitor lost the signal. I tried deleting the drivers (unpluged my GPU, switched to iGPU) - I got signal without drivers, but after I installed them (I've tried 3 different versions, the most recent, the one before that and the one before the one that was before the most recent(lol)) and the same thing happens when I reboot, so...

Is my 780 dead? Can I do anything to save it? Specs are in the sig.

No. GPU Boost did all the work for me.

How were your GPU temperatures before? Or did you never check?

Maybe. But try a fresh install of windows or running a linux-distro first. If you can get some other hdd, you won't even have to kill your current install

You're probably gonna need to get a new card. Check your temps to make sure they are ok before doing that though.

I've been checking frequently. I've played with a fan curve as well. Anyway, never went above 83.

Try it in another PC that is shown to be working. Try it in a different PCIE slot as well.

If nothing else works, then its time to bake it.

Will give you probably 1-3months extra time on the gpu before re-bake or replace.

I'm gonna try it in a different PCIE now. Tomorrow I'll be at my dad's so I might as well bring it and try. Thanks.

Uhhhh... I've heard about baking the card but I've never tried what. What tempretaure should the oven be set to? D:

There is an LTT video about it. I think you have to use aluminium paper and set the oven to 180c

If you actually want do that while waiting for a replacement don't use something you want to actually cook food in ever again.
