(1) It comes on every at certain times for a few hours then goes off again I’ve had 2 engineers come try and fix the issue but they failed to do so and you lot probably know more than them lol. I’m using Virgin Media Optic Fibre Hub 3.0, (2) The second problem I am facing is that I can use Wi-Fi but I can’t use the Ethernet/TP-Link I’ve tried different branded ones and changed cables but still the same issue I get an error message saying “ethernet doesn’t have a valid IP address. (I’ve also had my modem replaced with a new one and cables have been checked outside my house) I’ve attached some error messages in my router settings to this post below. (I can provide more details if needed)

Couple of questions, have they looked at the modem provisioning at all to make sure that's in order?

Do they allow you to bring your own modem? I doubt it but upon looking up the model I see a lot of mentions that firmware is pretty garbage but they were written early this year so not sure if it's been fixed since then. The ISP will push down the firmware so you can't really do anything there.

Another option is to pick up your own router and drop their box into modem only mode.

To answer the first question I would have no idea I just let them do their thing and hope they fix it, but I am having another engineer come look at it tommorow so if you have any questions I should ask him I’m more than happy to pass it on. I have looked into setting up the modem mode but I just feel like I shouldn’t have to since I’m paying for a service that should be working but isn’t. (If you need me to look at some certain settings in my Router I can do that for you to see if you can get a better understanding of what’s going on)

Alright, I would ask them to check on the provisioning and check the noise on the line.

I've seen those messages before and it's usually the result of a bad line or sub-par modem.

The reason for going modem-mode would be just for the fact that the router they usually throw into the modems to make them combo units is generally junk. If they still can't fix it I would look into a dedicated router itself and just throwing the combo unit into modem-mode. It's not enjoyable since you should be able to use what they provide you but it is a solution.
