more for less... mining more gpus off 1 mobo

hi,

I'm using a retired x99 mobo system to mine from and I was wondering if it's possible to add more than 4 gpu cards. I'm using riser cards, but I can't seem to find anything else that would allow me to expand the gpu capacity on the mobo. Would it be possible to use a usb expansion pcie slot and connect riser cards into the usb to expand gpu mining on one motherboard ? Has anyone tried this?

yes, I already have those. What I mean is how do I use more lanes from the PCIe slot. For example is it possible to hook up more than 1 gpu to 1 pcie slot since you only need to use 1 lane for mining?
