Purple Life

r3loAded

Hi there,

Back again with a new build. I've been building a couple of PCs but didn't had time to share them.

This is with what I'm coming in front of you to today. Remember, used components for better price/performance ratio and some little profit in my wallet :D

Processor - i7-4770k 3.5Ghz Base - 3.9GHz Turbo, 4 Cores - 8 Threads, 8MB Cache
Processor cooling - AIGO 120mm AIO
Motherboard - ASUS Z87-K, Intel Z87, S 1150, DDR3, SATA III - 6Gb/s, SATA RAID, PCIe 3.0 (x16), D-Sub (VGA) DVI-D HDMI, ATX
Ram - 2x4GB Kingston HyperX + 2x4GB G.Skill - 16GB total
Graphics Card - 6GB EVGA GTX 980 Ti Hybrid
Storage - 250GB Crucial SSD + 750GB Seagate HDD
Power Supply - 550W Corsair Gold Rated Full Modular RM550
Case - Corsair Crystal 460X
Other - 3x140mm Purple Corsair fans, 2x120 Corsair Purple fans, 2x30cm Purple LED strips

Operating System - Windows 10 PRO

Tried to keep the PC as balanced as possible and as nice and tidy as possible.

I've built a lot of PCs in different cases, but this Crystal 460X wasn't as cable management friendly as thought.

For the non "led light lovers" please do not provide bad feedback. I know that not everybody likes LEDs inside PCs, but that was my choice.

P.S. I'm gonna ask £800 (roughly $1070 or 1360CAD) for it with 3 months warranty. What do you think about the price?

Not enough purple builds out there (My favorite color) So you win fake forum points from me for the color scheme at least.

My only hang up is the price. The parts to buy new (when they were in stock) would come out to only around $1,100. Tacking that standard 70% retail price because of the used state of the hardware brings it to about $770. Adding on to that the labor of building it, and the quality of the build.. maybe you can bring it up another $100-150.  Its far more enticing as a $900-950 computer, not worth imo, anything over $970 though. And if you can sell it for more, then by all means, just my own personal opinion though

Still looks good though, so props on that.

First of all thank you for feedback and happy that you like the colour scheme.

Regarding the price, not sure how you added the components up. I did some math now, and I ended up with a $1500 with the components brand new when they were available.

I just did a rough build with similar components (not all similar, but tried to keep the performance similar, at least in gaming). I added only 8gb because ddr4 is quite expensive now, and the price is a little bit lower, but that fine. As I said, a rough build. Also, that's without windows.

Not quite the same parts but roughly equivalent prices. though parts over there in the uk have got a steeper import tax that in the us it would seem. I'll also chalk up a bit of the mixup to my labeling the psu as only 90$ new, and the gpu as about $90 lower than the cheapest same performance alternative.

Well yeah, but as parts grow older, the MSRP becomes irrelevant, especially when you buy used. The average price for which the components sold on eBay in the past month is a good value determination.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

I agree. So I'll list the lowest prices you could find on ebay and build it yourself (not meaning you you).

cpu - £160 lowest

aio - paid £39 brand new

mobo - £50 - you won't find it lower than that

ram - £50 is the lowest you'll get 16GB DDR3

graphics card - £280 - even though I've never seen a 980ti cheaper than this, and this has an aio on it with very good temps

ssd - £45 - again the lowest you'll find, if you find

hdd - £10 - I think it's a fair price

power supply - £50 - again lowest

case - £50 - it's £89 brand new - I would guess it's a fair price

fans - £50 - all fans are brand new

windows - £20 ($30 kinguin) - approximately

Total: £804 with 3 months warranty, not sure if impacts the price too much but it's there.

I might consider lowering the price to £750, but I need to pay tax so not sure about that.

Also, my target customers are the ones that don't know how to build a PC, and in the same time I try to offer the a better offer than online and local shops. I also invest my own money here, build them and then sell them, which is a little bit risky but it paid off so far. I've built and sold over 60 PCs so far, raging from £200 up to £1000. And trust me, when you invest £900 in a PC, looking to get £1000 for it, makes you feel alive.

This is an example of a PC sold for £1000 with no warranty:

i7-7700, asrock z170, H80i v2, 16gb ram, GTX 1080 founders, Seasonic 620W, 2x128gb ssd new, 1x1tb hdd, nzxt h440 case

I'm just someone who has talked even my own family members into cutting down prices, I'm just a cheapskate. If I don't get a killer deal on the expensive things in life, then I don't get em flat out. The prices are reasonable, I tried to make sure I mentioned that its just my own overly conservative opinion.
