Windows stuck after changing locale

So I was going to play this game but said game required me to change my locale to Japan. 

 

So I went into control panel to change my locale and selected Japan and then was given a prompt to restart. 

 

Over 30min later I am still stuck on the initial "Getting Windows Ready. Don't turn off your computer" screen............

No % indication, no nothing. Just a stupid spinning loading animation and my mouse cursor. 

 

wtf Microsoft.

You have tons of problems with Windows

I have tons of problems with macOS.

 

I guess we're even here.

Well maybe if those macOS issues put the whole PC out of commission. 

 

This kind of BS seems to happen every other month.

Back when I was using 10.3 on those G3 iMacs... yea missing/corrupt boot disks were the least of their problems. 

Anyways... any drive activity indications?

the drives were quite and only my HDD would flash the LED indicator or make noise but the HDD is my bulk storage drive so it should have been silent. 

 

it actually just restarted after about 40min of being on that screen......

I would use Locale Emulator (It's open source) instead of changing locale each time as that can have issues as you have experienced. Not sure if any games are incompatible, but all of the games that I needed a Japanese locale have worked fine.
