Posted December 2, 2017 So i got the PC that you can see in my signature. A kind of a 1st experience into building PC's not knowing much about it. The question is can i now upgrade to ryzen and keep the ram? can it be overclocked to say 3200 (the recommended for ryzen right) ? or should i just consider it a bad buy and move on. Someone i know would buy the motherboard and cpu and i would upgrade, he does not need the ram. . Posted December 2, 2017 I think it's a bit unlikely that your RAM will overclock to an extra GHz. It seems like it's in single channel as well... Ryzen + Low RAM speed + Single channel = Not great performance. You could sell your current RAM and buy a higher clocked kit though. Posted December 2, 2017 Well it recommended but we cannot tell you your ram kit will overclock to stable 3200. I would stick with your current setup and upgrade your CPU to i5 or i7. Also now is not great time to buy RAM with these high prices. Magical Pineapples
