Right CPU for Batman laptop

Hi,

I'm looking for the right CPU for laptop my needs, two scenarios I need to handle:

1. Bruce Wayne: Average load, low noise, VR developement, Unreal Engine 4, with relatively low noise emissions. Even 7700HQ could handle that part

2. Batman: High load, high noise: Rendering, long compilations, VR gaming. 7700K  is the best choice I think, but 7700 is ok as well I think

My question is: Can I downclock / limit 7700K to run as cool and fast as 7700T (super power saving desktop one, but still better than 7700HQ) or at least 7700?

I see that for 7700T TDP is 35W, for 7700 is 65W and for 7700K is 91W, but I know I can force 7700K to work with only 35W using i.e. ThrottleStop.

Is there any point in choosing 7700T or 7700 over 7700K if I want to be able to limit heat and noise on demand?

I think I'll go with Clevo P751dm2-g laptop because it can handle desktop CPU, while GPU part can be solved by 1070 GTX. Desktop CPU will be delided. Is it a good choice, or maybe am I looking in wrong direction?

Personally if have the money, a powerful desktop and lightweight laptop. I always can VM into my main desktop if i need anything intensive done. I would get more powerful laptop if that is going to be your main machine. You can always use headphone.

If Batman is going to do rendering, what about AMD?

It's more power efficient, not as good in gaming but you can get much more cores/threads for your money which will help a lot in redering workloads.

Desktop is not the best choice for me, unfortunately, because I have to move between office and home few times a week. Also, noise problem is in Bruce Wayne scenario only, because I'm going to use this mode in the office. In home I can have as much noise as I like with noise cancelling headphones on my head.

The laptop doesnt support overclocking, so even the basic 6700/7700 should do.

7700k TDP accounts for some OCing. You can undervolt and downclock to your heart’s content. If you’re going that route just grab the 7700 though since it can do the same things

That's an F in the profile pic
