ATX/ BTX/ ATX12/ EPS12V/ SFX12V

Looking for a PSU to go with my build but getting rather stuck.

 

On PC part picker there are all of these options (ATX/ BTX/ ATX12/ EPS12V/ SFX12V) and ive no clue which ones are newer and or better to use for a high end system.

Im planning on going for a 850w psu to be safe and should allow for upgrade in the future if needed? I think?

Those refer to the form-factor of the PSU

Pcpartpicker automatically filters out the ones which are of another formfactor / too big for your case so you're fine

You want an ATX power supply, that's the standard for regular computers.

BTX was a standard made by Intel where the components inside the computer were arranged in a different way.

SFX is a standard for "small form factor computers", half-height, smaller power supplies

 

ATX12 means the power supply uses the "improved" ATX standard which means the power supply has a 12v cable to power the processor. Before Pentium 4, processors were powered using energy from 5v from the power supply, a revision of the atx standard added the special cpu 4 pin and 8 pin power connectors to power the processors using 12v from the power supply.

Pretty much any ATX power supply these days can be considered ATX12v because it will have a 4 pin cpu power cable.

EPS12 - EPS is the 8 pin cpu power connector used to power hungry processors. It was more common on server motherboards but eventually regular motherboards started to use it.

Some lower end (<500w power supplies) may not have this 8 pin cpu power connector and only have 4 pin cpu power connector.

 

Any quality 550w or higher power supply will have this EPS (8 pin cpu power) connector.

As for your build... your computer won't consume more than 350w on the stock frequencies, maybe up to 450w if you overclock heavily.  A good quality 650w power supply will be enough for that system.

And really, save your money, there's really no point in buying so many fans unless you want to RGB-ify your system

The case comes with  THREE  140mm silentwings fans which should give enough airflow for the case.
