Compatibility with m.2 and motherboard

Hi everyone,

 

so i am looking the msi b350m mortar motherboard, then I realized the m.2 slot is just below the pcie slot, where the graphics card go. The problem is when i install both of them, it will fit? or do I use the second pcie slot better? does it affects performance?

You will want to use the top slot for the GPU on that motherboard. The slots below it are PCIE gen 2, which technically wont hinder performance, but they are not optimal for the use case.

It's fine having the M.2 SSD below the GPU, they don't get too hot and it will fit just fine.

thank you a lot!! I was so worried about this, because I already have a m.2 ssd and I want to use it for a new build. And nice GIMP avatar!
