How do you fix a 3d printer jam

Im using an xyz davinchi jr 3d printer and when unloading the filiment some got stuck in the filament loading area above the filament rack or thats what I think. Theres no filament in the pipe or extruder yet no filament will load. Help!!!!!

Uh, can you attach some pictures? You mean it got stuck in the feeder?

If I'm thinking of the right component, you can grab a metal rod slightly smaller than the extruder and feeding it through the nozzle while it's hot.

No thats the extruder your thinking of

Oh can you manually turn the feeder? Also flip your spool around, the feeder will be fighting the material the way you have it.

No you cant. Ive tried both ways. Idk

What do you mean both ways? It looks like the material is being grabbed by the feeder. If you open up repetier host, can you move the feeder through that? (keep in mind printers wont move the feeder unless the hotend is at temperature.

I mean ive positioned the filament roll both ways around like you suggested. im sorry whats the repetier host? xyz has a pre determined loading sequence where the hot end heats and then it pulls the filament through. works like a charm normally but right now its not

Repetier host is a slicer and printer control software. It's pretty neat, I use it for my robotics club's printer, but I stick with Cura for my own. Anyway, use it because it will let you control all the functions of the machine manually over usb.

 

The thing about the filament is for when you get it feeding.
