cheap CPU for internet browsing + media playback

Hi, as the title suggest I wanna build a cheap PC for my sister. She is gonna use the PC to browse the internet and watch some films and rarely some applications like CAD software.

I want something with integrated graphics but the only idea I have is the g4560. Any cheaper suggestion or something better in the same price range?

G4400 or some cheap Celeron. An APU would also work.

You could do that or go for AMD's older cpu

Those run hot and can be power hungry. I'd get something that can easily be passively cooled and run off a shitty PSU.

was looking also for an APU but I have no idea of how do they compare to a CPU with igpu. I prefer better cpu performance and less gpu power. Any suggested APU?

Latest and greatest A10s are pretty fucking good for the price. She can even game on it with decent FPS on low settings.

I would just buy an old prebuilt and stick in a SSD.

What's your price point? You could easily just get a chromebook if all you're doing is web browsing. However, CAD software would require a real PC. My point is that a prebuilt would also work fine.

 

If you're determined to build something, a pentium or celeron would be fine.

j1900, 8gb ram, 1tb HDD, windows 10 pro 230€ and I add a 250gb ssd. sounds good?

While I would ordinarily recommend at least a Solid State Drive but otherwise cheap system, the CAD requirement makes me think the money would be better spent on a modern quad core with a decent iGPU.

 

I'd go the pre-built route here, and add in the SSD later. Modern iGPUs should handle beginner CAD work just fine. A desktop that has some room for expansion would be advisable though.
