Lights being wierd and screen is not turning on

jamesnightingale

Hello guys earlier today I had a problem where my computer would turn on for 5 seconds then turn off. I played around with the plugs and no it fully boots and stays on.

Now I have another issue my computer doesn't show anything on my monitor it says pc is not sending the monitor any information.

This video shows my problem any ideas why this is happening and why when I move that plug my pc lights change like what the heck XD. I know people say don't touch stuff inside the pc but I have no other choice I have no idea what to do.

Thanks a lot guys.

With regards to your lighting issue, make sure the cable is plugged in all the way. If it looses connection by you touching it, it's not fully attached. Have you cleared the CMOS yet when diagnosing the no POST issue?

I reset the cmos by taking the battery out. Any idea where the plug for the lights is?

I have no idea what the problem could be. You could try unplugging everything and cleaning the PC. Check the wires for integrity or what have you. Do you have a way of testing individual parts? Does the monitor work with another machine for instance?

Turn the PSU switch to off before you try.

It looks like it's at the bottom of the motherboard in your case. It'll be a 4 pin connector you should be looking for.
