I'm doing a leafs theme build and I'm really on the fence about what motherboard to go with. I have the case already and theme was very important.

DEEPCOOL DUKASEWH Computer Case Windowed Mid-Tower ATX/MATX with 2 Fans Pre-installed -White

The black portions have been removed and are being extensively modified. They will be blue with logos and such cut into them which will allow extra air flow and light to pass through. I'm going to have liquid cooling with white radiators (1 thin 280 at the top and a white 140 at the back) with liquid cooling for the cpu and the gpu. The gpu i'm going with is the msi 1080 seahawk x ek. The problem comes in that I need a white motherboard so my options are very limited. I chose the amd 1700 because of this and because of my usage. The only boards I have to choose from that are even a possibility are the titanium which is fine though it's not exactly white or the Arctic or mortar arctic. I like being able to change the blue striping on the arctic boards for the Royal blue the leafs use however I am concerned with the differences between the boards. The mortar arctic has no heatsink on the mosfets and I would buy the EK cooler for the titanium that cools the mosfets. The other issue is that the x370 boards have more pci lanes and such. As well I like how the mortar arctic has much less black on it than the other boards and the price is much lower than the titanium.

1) will I be handicapping myself at all with the b350 boards and how much difference are we talking.

2) Is there any issues I could have with the m.2 slot

3) is there any other considerations I should be aware of.

Sounds like it'll be a cool build! You'll have to do a build blog when you finally finish modding and piece it all together.

Though, my dad would hate it, he's a die hard Habs fan ;)

I don't think you really need to worry about PCIe lanes. The GPU uses 16, NVME uses 4, and that's only if you're going with an NVME drive, which honestly for 99% of the population is a waste of money.

Links to the motherboard would help.
