Compatibility of CM Hyper TX3 EVO on AM4 Boards

Loslite

Hi all!

Recently I've purchased a ryzen 5 1600X and a B350 motherboard. I'm not looking to overclock, so I have gotten the Hyper TX3 EVO to go along with it. According to cooler master's website, the TX3 EVO does support AM4 motherboards, but I have also read that some older stocks of that cooler do not have the necessary retention hardware for it. Since I have bought the cooler in advance (the 1600X and B350 are coming in about a week), I was wondering if the one I received is compatible and therefore if I should return it. I have attached a couple of photos for reference.

It doesn't look like it has AM4 support, apparently only the newer stock of this cooler include the AM4 bracket. I was able to order a free AM4 bracket for my 212X, but I can't see an option for the bracket for your cooler :(

Yea, it seems that because they have listed this cooler as one that officially supports am4, they dont make those upgrade brackets for it.

Might be easiest to return this and speak to some other suppliers to see if they have the AM4 compatible version, bit of a pain :(

According to an image on TX3 EVO gallery, it uses the plastic bracket which hasn't changed from AM3(+).

So will work on AM4.

Haha true. I thought of this at first, but was not 100% sure of what the "newest stock's" packaging would look like, so I came on here to get some confirmation.

I have contacted the supplier of this cooler, but havent gotten a reply ?. They did advertise this as am4 compatible so Im a bit upset about the lack of clarity I guess.

I'm currently using an LC Power Cosmo Cool 95 on my Ryzen setup and it uses the plastic bracket like it did on my Athlon X4 setup.

Works just fine.

Thanks for the confirmation! Ill hold on to this cooler for now.

If anyone else has this exact cooler as well as a ryzen setup, I would like to hear from you too!
