Bought some ATH M50's...

I bought some ATH m50's and im using on board audio at the moment. Should i get a sound card? My phones have not come in yet FYI. 

 

If i should any card under $50 that are good? I dont have much ATM for i just the phones and a new logitech kb.

You don't need a soundcard.

It's one of the most efficient headphones I own.  Definitely doesn't need a power amp.

you dont need it. but im not going to say that you would not notice it. 

 

 my advice is to use it with what you got now and see if you feel like it can do more. then get a good sound card or a USB DAC

Wow thats great! But what if i hear hissing in my headphones right now? does that mean anything? Im using wireless sony's.

You hear hissing because the headphones are wireless.  :rolleyes: Wireless headphones bypass any hardware in the computer.

What? It sounds to me like interference/weak signal.

Well it has a 3.5 mm jack on the receiver and that run to the audio on my MoBo. PS these headphones are meant for theater use ie for TV. I use them for PC as well and this hissing started yesterday.

They are. There is a receiver.

some of the sonys use 3.5 to get audio from and not usb 

 

have you tried changing frequencies? if you have the wireless sonys that I think you do you should have 3 settings to toggle between

How is the m50 with u, since I am thinking to buy 1

It's good for $89. I wouldn't pay full price though. It certainly looks nice.
