R9 270, or 7870

I was just a while ago given the choice between the two cards as a Christmas gift. I will use the card to game during the day and mine litecoins at night, But there's a problem. I don't know what GPU to choose, they are both the same price, and they are nice cards. What one would have the best overclocking and things of that matter compared to the other?

They're pretty much the same card in terms of performance.

I would say the R9 270, can't remember if those are the same or not, AMD's new naming scheme is a little confusing, well either that or I'm easily confused

I'll go with the R9 270 and OC it to perform as good as the 270X.

Since you can get R9 270's with BF4 i'd go for that. most E-stores aren't doing NSF any more, like newegg and Amazon.

If you can afford a Radeon R9 270X then go that route. It can OC to perform better than a 7950. If not the 270 is still a nice card.

They're the same card. Go for whichever looks better or is cheaper.
