cpu temps?

just got my new PC and i want to find out how you would check the temperature of the CPU? any special programs i need?

HWMonitor is pretty good.

PC - CPU Ryzen 5 1600 - GPU Power Color Radeon 5700XT- Motherboard Gigabyte GA-AB350 Gaming - RAM 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB - Storage 525GB Crucial MX300 SSD + 120GB Kingston SSD   PSU Corsair CX750M - Cooling Stock - Case White NZXT S340

 

Peripherals - Mouse Logitech G502 Wireless - Keyboard Logitech G915 TKL  Headset Razer Kraken Pro V2's - Displays 2x Acer 24" GF246(1080p, 75hz, Freesync) Steering Wheel & Pedals Logitech G29 & Shifter

Core Temp for a minimal design 

"May your frame rates be high and your temperatures low"

I misread titles/posts way too often--correct me if I don't.

^ as you see there are several. I'll add ones I use/have used.

 

RealTemp. This is what I use to record temps while benchmarking/stress testing.

MSI Afterburner. Mainly to control GPU fans, but also gives nice graphs about many parts.

HWiNFO64. By far the most feature rich system monitor you will see.

OpenHardwareMonitor. This is always open on 2nd screen to quickly diagnose if any issues are some component related and how CPU is handling some of more demanding software.

Speedfan. For fan control, but has temp readings too.

 

Plus stress testing software like OCCT.
