It should work with Windows 10.

Yeah, if you have a second generation Xbox One controller, it will connect via bluetooth as well.

Yes, the drivers and everything are built into Windows 10, you shouldn't have any issues. I had some issues connection my wireless Xbox 360 controller, but that was after the Xbox One controller was the standard and Microsoft changed some things with the pre-loaded drivers.

It should be plug and play for you.

yeah you can I use one of the wireless dongles to do so when I play driving games.

It will, you just can't use bluetooth then, assuming you're PC has bluetooth and you have a second gen controller.

You only have the xbox controller one? maybe buy a sony ps3 controller that's cheap nowadays and those bluetooth usb connectors that are compatible for it in wireless, it is a lot easier than it seems.

Windows 10 is designed to be plug and play with the Xbox one controller. Don't know about Windows 8, I'm surprised somebody wants to use it. I found the metro view horrible. If it doesn't connect after just plugging it in with usb, you probably need some kind of drivers.

For my XBox One controller it was Plug and Play for Window 10.

For Windows 7, drivers were required to be installed manually (there are posts for this, you can google it).

Haven't tried it Windows 8 though, but if it's working with 7, then should work with 8 too
