Hello! I'm currently running the following rig;
Intel i7 7700K, clocked at 5ghz

Arctic Cooling's 360 AIO.

MSI's GTX 1080

2x8GB Corsair Dominator Platinum

And Antec's 850W PSU, I forgot the exact model.
My display is a 140Hz panel, at 1440p.

Recently (about a few months back) I experienced my first stutter in Overwatch. It's not a drop of FPS and everything just turning laggy as shit, though this has happened a few times when I left the PC running for a few days on end (do you think this was the cause?).

My problem is that, even with a fresh boot and while keeping FPS around 300+ in MOBAs and around 200 at maxed settings in Overwatch, I get weird stops. Sort of stutters, but it's not like my FPS drops, it's like time froze for just a second and then continued on. So far this hasn't impacted performance, but I really find it to be a hindrance.

My CPU goes to 70C max, which is weird for having a 360 AIO cooler with six fans, but I don't mind as long as it doesn't get close to 80. GPU runs at 76C max, so I don't think I'm throttling or bottlenecking myself here.

I couldn't find a really helpful solution for this online, any help?

Internet speed is always 20MB on down speed, 15MB on up. Ping is a constant 42MS at the very most.

stutter is related to ping. You teleport and stuuter but dont get fps drops.

I check for viruses on the daily, none to be found with Malwarebytes. No background processes either. And I'd define what you're talking about by calling it lag rather than anything else! For me the game proceeds naturally, but it's as if a few frames were simply skipped, and the screen froze for a split second.

Did this only start after you do your 5 GHz overclock? Basically what happened with your earlier post about overclocking help?

This started a long time ago, far before I even got an AIO cooler. I never managed to solve what was going on with my OC and eventually just left it like that. I tend to leave my PC on to read me stories when I go to bed, and I barely ever turn it off, but I do give it a 10-minute break sometimes. Could the constant uptime be a source of this in any way?

There were no real changes to the software, and I've even tried a fresh reinstall of Windows 10. Nothing's changed. Same thing happened with tearing- I never ever had it even without G-Sync, then suddenly it's there one day despite V-Sync always, always having been off.

I'm trying to update my MOBO drivers rn, see if it'll help.

Try with a reduced oc?

Is this just in overwatch or with all your other games? Just want to try reading your post correctly

All of my games, seemingly. Even League, which is the least intensive potato on the planet, where I get 400 FPS and above quite easily.

This has been happening since at the very least June, though.

Then make sure to disable Fast Startup in Windows, Game Bar, Game Mode, Game DVR.

In NVIDIA Control Panel set Global V-Sync to OFF.

Restart PC.

Disable Xbox Game DVR, any stuttering issues I've ever had were caused by it.

I do believe that she already has if you look back at her first post it was for this same issue and goes on to talk about Xbox game DVR

Firecrafter's right, I've always had it disabled and it isn't the source of my issue.

I tried to turn my PC off at night, upon booting it games ran perfectly smoothly, though after it's been active for about a dozen hours it starts displaying stuttering. Could it possibly be a fault with my SSD? I'll try installing on my HDD, see how that goes.
