I have checked out the iPhone X in stores twice now to see if it looks worth the update from my iPhone 6s.Each time, I have noticed considerable motion blur (with every floor model iPhone X) when viewing dark text on white background. This blur becomes apparent when scrolling through safari pages, e.g. the iPhone X home page on Apple's website. It almost looks like the "Display Pointer Trails" option in Windows mouse properties. Attached are some examples.

IMG_001 and IMG_002 display screenshots in slowmo of the iPhone X scrolling in a webpage. In each of these pictures, ghosts of the text and pictures are seen to trail behind the actual text and pictures. This behavior is also true to some degree for iPhone 8+, shown in IMG_003, but is somehow much less noticeable to the naked eye. I even checked the iPad Pro with 120Hz display (IMG_004) and observed a similar amount of blur; however, both the iPhone 8+ and iPad Pro show little to no actual motion blur (or whatever problem to which I am referring) in real life.

Other people are experiencing this issue: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iphone-x-motion-blur.2085165/#post-25415323

What is causing the display of the iPhone X to look God-awful when scrolling around? And is it a hardware problem, or can it be fixed in software? I would love to hear your thoughts.

The display has a 60Hz refresh rate, so shooting at 240fps would net the same result on any 60Hz display. What you're describing here must be a different issue than the ghosting you're displaying in the pictures. Keep us up to date what you find out.

Also when referring to the macrumors thread, cite your sources, don't just tell people to Google it.
