I currently have an MSI R9 390 , and I am planning to get another r9 390 however I've seen a good deal on a gigabyte R9 390 will a crossfire between the two cards create any possible issues?

How much is the second 390?

linus when build the 10,000$ pc had to differnet versions on the 980TI but said it would work together, but that it's main card is the slower one so take that into account if you want the second hard.

280$

Personally I'd sell your 390 add that to the money you currently have and buy a newer card like a 1070

I ran 290x crossfire for a while.

When it works it is amazing, 4k becomes doable on a budget. The problem is consistency.  Games that don't scale mean you waste a card and games that have any stuttering issues result in a very jarring experience.

Noise is an issue.  You really need to water-cool the top card with something like the Kraken AIO bracket, or wear headphones.  Heat is bad as well if you're gaming for a long time or are in a poorly ventilated room.

I'm in a similar boat to you - I have a 290x and want something better, but I'd much sooner sell and get a second hand 980ti than get a second 290x again.
