Need Bright Ideas for old Dual CPU Rig

I have a server computer with a supermicro x8dtl-if (dual processor) CPU. I currently have 2 Xeon E5620 on it and 16 GB of ram. It also has a NVIDIA Quadro 600-1GB on it. I scraped together this computer for a total of 40$ for fun and now I have no idea what I should do with it. I was thinking maybe I could do some CPU mining ((☞゚∀゚)☞ I live in university dorms and electricity is already paid for) or creating a home server to mess around with.

Any suggestions?

Specs:

Motherboard: Supermicro X8DTL-IF

CPU: Dual Intel Xeon E5620

RAM: 4x4GB 1066MHz ECC DDR3

GPU: NVIDIA Quadro 600 1 GB DDR3

Storage: 1TB HDD

(Note: The system does boot and already has windows 10)

Oooohh I'm so jealous. I love server stuff and networking and all that.

Anyway, ideas:

  • Virtual machines to simulate or do or try whatever you want that you couldn't before
  • Home server
  • Web server
  • HTPC that could stream to whatever device you want (dont physically put it in the living room :P )
  • Don't do CPU mining
  • Get into blender and render your stuff better
  • VPN server
  • Remotely accessible server (ssh, teamviewer, vnc, lynx [<== web browsing for ssh])

and I'm sure I'll have more ideas later.

(I love servers)

Spoiler

Q: Do I have a virus?!
A: If you didn't click a sketchy email, haven't left your computer physically open to attack, haven't downloaded anything sketchy/free, know that your software hasn't been exploited in a new hack, then the answer is: probably not.

Q: What email/VPN should I use?
A: Proton mail and VPN are the best for email and VPNs respectively. (They're free in a good way)

Q: How can I stay anonymous on the (deep/dark) webzz???....

A: By learning how to de-anonymize everyone else; if you can do that, then you know what to do for yourself.

Q: What Linux distro is best for x y z?

A: Lubuntu for things with little processing power, Ubuntu for normal PCs, and if you need to do anything else then it's best if you do the research yourself.

Q: Why is my Linux giving me x y z error?

A: Have you not googled it? Are you sure StackOverflow doesn't have an answer? Does the error tell you what's wrong? If the answer is no to all of those, message me.

when you are going to mine you could get around the 350 wich isn't the best because you will be using a ton of power
