Literally any PCIE 1x 1gbe ethernet card will get the job done.  Though I wonder why your computer doesn't have that built in already unless it's some kinda ultra-slim laptop.

Figure out what kind of extension slots your computer has.

It should have at least PCI-E x1 , it may have PCI-E x4  (a bit wider than x1 ones) and it may have PCI slots

You can plug pci-e x1 cards into pci-e x1 or pci-e x4 or even pci-e x16 slots without any problems. Most ethernet cards will use the pci-e x1 connectors because that's enough speed for them - 1gbps is 125 MB/s and the x1 connection offers 500MB/s for pci-e v2.0 or ~970 MB/s for pci-e v3.0

If your pci-e x1 slots can't be used (for example if your video card blocks them) but you do have a PCI slot then you can use such an old gigabit ethernet card without any worries - the PCI slots offer up to 133 MB/s speed, so that's enough even for 1 gbps ethernet cards.

v  pci-e x16 , x1 , x4 , x16  , pci , pci   (pci slots have that channel near the end, while pci-e slots have it at the beginning because they're designed like that, to be "modular")
