Don't the airpods have audio quality equal to their $30 wired headphones? And worse in comparison to other blue tooth audio in that price range?

I haven't used them personally, but they supposedly sound much better.

iPhone X? Doesn't that phone cost $1000?

IMO, iPhone's are just for "showing off". Don't expect to see any new changes next year, since all they did is replace TouchID with FaceID, add a notch along with a false advertised "bezel-less" phone, and a OLED screen which Android implemented years ago.

If you really want to switch to iOS, go for the iPhone 8/8+. You'll save hundreds of dollars.

I’d probably wait.

Here’s why. The iPhone X is the biggest redesign in like 3 years. It’s a huge shift in the iPhone philosophy to the point where you will probably need to relearn how to navigate through the UX.

As with anything like that in the world of tech, it will come with teething pains. I’d wait for Apple to add more spit and polish if you aren’t the early adopter kind.

I see a lot of tinfoil hate people in this thread in regards to FaceID.

I have the X; upgraded from a 7 Plus and love everything about it. FaceID has worked way better than I could've ever imagined. I've tried it in a number of different places and it has been solid 100% of the time. I have yet to use the passcode to unlock the x aside from when I restarted it back on launch day. The screen is absolutely amazing especially the blacks. The battery life is really great too. I thought it would be a noticeable difference coming from a 7 Plus but I actually haven't noticed any reduced battery life as of yet. Wireless charging is amazing. When I'm at work the X is always sitting in the Spigen Qi charger stand. The most I've gotten the X down to so far was 69%. TrueTone bothers some people but I welcome it as I prefer less stain on my eyes. They also made the device thicker and because of this it's easier to hold now.

The ONLY negative thing about the X itself is the type of screen they went with. Sometimes you notice this screen-door effect on the screen and it can be somewhat distracting. I suspect I will get use to it and forget about it soon.

The notch is 100% not a problem for me. It was all hyped up for no reason just like I thought it would be. To me, it feels almost like a 3D effect when whatever it is you are viewing forms around the notch.

EDIT: I see some people saying that learning the new gestures coming from an iPhone with a home button might be difficult. LOL absolutely not. Of course the first few days you will forget about swiping up unlock and instinctively reach for the home button that is not there but you will learn fast. I prefer swiping up to unlock WAY more than resting my finger on the home button.

I will also say that FaceID when using certain apps that would normally prompt you for Touch ID is basically invisible and require you to do nothing. It's much more seamless.

(For some reason, I cannot edit this at all)

It’s not that it’s hard. It’s just quite jarring for the first few.

I got used to the gestures almost instantly, there are just two that are stupid/annoying imo.

Perfect gestures:

  • Swipe up from the bottom is the home button.
  • Swipe down from anywhere not the right -- notification center.
  • Swipe up from the bottom and hold or swipe up from the bottom and go right, both do the same thing -- open app switcher, but the second one is perfect.
  • Swipe along the bottom -- fast switch between apps.

Annoying gestures:

  • Swipe down from the top right is control center -- this one is actually cumbersome/annoying and I wish it was swipe up from the bottom right corner or something instead.
  • Long press on an app once in app switcher to toggle the close app options, and swiping the app up without first toggling the 'close' setting just brings you to the home screen, which is stupid imo. Once you're in the app switcher, swiping up on the app card should just close the app like it used to.

I learned the gestures within 5 minutes playing with the phone in an apple store. It's actually a lot easier to adapt than you'd think

I can actually do the same.

Don't think my sister could though.
